POST 5
29TH DIVISION ASSOCIATION

Norfolk Post 5 meets twice yearly on the Saturdays immediately before Memorial and Veterans Day. Post 5 meets at the Norfolk Readiness Center (Virginia National Guard Armory) located at 3777 East Virginia Beach Blvd, Norfolk, VA 23502.

The Post 5 meeting room is also an impressive museum of military artifacts which is worth a visit to see. Since the museum room is in the Armory, it is not open to the public.

Post 5 is one of the oldest Posts in the 29th Division Association, established in 1924.   It is mostly existing and former members of the 111th Field Artillery Battalion, but all 29ers are welcome!

The current list of officers:

Post Commander – John Lane
Vice Commander –  Bob Eldredge
Adjutant – Randy Hess
Secretary – Janice Hess

Dues are $15.00 per year and based on a January through December schedule.

While we may be involved in other events and efforts during the year, our primary projects and events include:

    a. Memorial Day and Veterans Day services at Forest Lawn Cemetery

     b. Biannual meetings immediately prior to our Memorial and Veterans Day services

Contact person for Post 5 is the Adjutant, Randy Hess, at 757-481-5092 or the Post Commander, John Lane at 757-497-6263.  We can also be reached by email at NLAB.Post5@outlook.com.
