Norfolk Post 5 meets twice yearly on the Saturdays immediately before Memorial and Veterans Day. Post 5 meets at the Norfolk Readiness Center (Virginia National Guard Armory) located at 3777 East Virginia Beach Blvd, Norfolk, VA 23502.
A formal ceremony is then held on Memorial and Veteran’s Day at 11:00 AM at the Forest Lawn Cemetery in front of the 29th Division D-Day Memorial Monument.
The Post 5 meeting room is also an impressive museum of military artifacts which is worth a visit to see. Since the museum room is in the Armory, it is not open to the public.
Post 5 is one of the oldest Posts in the 29th Division Association, established in 1924. It is mostly existing and former members of the 111th Field Artillery Battalion, but all 29ers are welcome!
